Contents
Per Caplet Paracetamol 500 mg, dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg, phenylpropanolamine HCl 15 mg. Per 5 mL syr Paracetamol 120 mg, dextromethorphan HBr 7.5 mg, phenylpropanolamine HCl 3.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of flu, headache, nasal congestion, cough, cold, fever.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Caplet Adult 1 caplet 3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½ caplet 3 times daily. Syr Adult 20 mL 3-4 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr 10 mL 3 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Patients sensitive to other sympathomimetic drugs (eg, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine), severe HTN, receiving MAOIs therapy; severe hepatic dysfunction.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ HTN or having risk of HTN or stroke eg, overwt or elderly; liver & renal dysfunction; glaucoma; prostatic hypertrophy; hyperthyroidism; urinary retention; heart failure & DM. Alcohol consumption may enhance the risk of liver function disorder. Insomnia, palpitation & dizziness (discontinue). Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended for childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
GI disorders, psychomotor disorders, tachycardia, arrhythmia, palpitations, urinary retention, drowsiness; hepatic impairment (high dose & in prolonged therapy).
Drug Interactions
Co-administration w/ MAOIs may result in hypertensive crisis.
